God made him do it.

There was a time in the past when, if you did something bone-headed or wrong, you'd just say that “the devil made you do it”. Well good ol' George W. down in the US of A has come out and stated that the whole “War on Terrorism” and the invasion of Iraq happened because God told him (dubya) to do it. The fact that the leader of the most militarily powerful nation on Earth is taking advice from “God” (one can only imagine that he's interpreting the voices in his head, or Dick Chaney as God) on foreign policy is more than a bit scary. First off, it's scary if “God” start to tell him to do even more bizarre and dangerous things in the world, like nuking China, for example. Foreign policy needs to be carefully thought out, weighing in factors from the reaction of the done unto to the reaction of allies. By saying “God made me do it” Bush is almost saying that he's just making it up as he goes along. Though from the way the Americans are behaving on the world stage, it wouldn't surprise me that they are just making it up as they go along.

Another scary part of this is that the so-called leader of the free world is denying personal responsibility for his actions. Blaming God or the Devil for anything is to try to shift blame from oneself. By saying what he's saying, dubya is trying to prevent any blame from being shifted onto him. Further to that, he's trying to prevent blame from happening at all, since which right wing religious nut case would accuse the almighty of wrongdoing. All signs of a small man who probably shouldn't have been elected in the first place.

One can only hope that first, there will be a next US election and that those that support this loon lose that election.
