So if you recall I mentioned that some lawyer claimed I owed him $3000 with respect to the sale of my house. Well, this lawyer has served me with papers for a law suit on Friday (only three days after getting notification of the money in the first place.So what happened? It would appear that during the purchase of my house, the lawyer for the sellers miscalculated the sale price to the tune of $3000. So when he sent the info to my lawyer, he asked for $3000 not enough.
Of course, since this is his fault and not mine, he's now suing me for the $3000, plus interest from November, despite the fact he didn't discover the error till the end of February. So not only is this guy incompetent, he's ballsy. I will of course be discussing this matter with my lawyer.
With actions like this, it's no wonder lawyers have the reputation they do. They make a mistake, you pay for it. No personal accountably on their part. No wonder our politicians (who are mostly lawyers) are so screwed up. On days like today I begin to think Shakespeare was right.
