The willingly ignorant. Not all religious people, or even Christians are willingly
ignorant, nor are all non-religious people always enlightened.

It's interesting that no matter what the religion, any number of heinous acts
can be committed under the banner of "faith". All churches are protected in
their discrimination against women and their hatred against the gay
community. As long as a group of people declare themselves a "religion" they
can discriminate against anyone they want to as long as it falls under their
"dogma".

But if anyone should call this dogma into the light and debunk it with hard,
scientific fact (as in the case of evolution vs. creationism) then suddenly the
particular religion is up in arms about being discriminated against.

Anyone remember this:

"So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is
the Law and the prophets." (Matthew 7:12 RSV)

What do I know, though? I'm just a women and last time I looked, the big
three (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) don't care about my opinion.
