I understand the distinction as I was a reservist for 22 years myself and as long
as he isn't on "C" class service that's fine (other than the optics). The way the
Harper Conservatives have politicized the military though, is as you put it
shameful and does a disservice to not only the members of the CF, but
Canadians as well.

Pity Harper and his supporters don't see it this way, but then again ethics and
the rule of law are foreign concepts to Harper and the Conservatives.
