Letter to CBC Eyeopener and Ombudsman

Jason lettersHello,

This is to follow up my phone call of earlier this morning to your "talk back line". To start, I have been a CBC listener for over 25 years and have counted on CBC in Calgary to present a more balanced view of the world. The riding profile presented this morning on the Calgary Eyeopener has however, began to erode this view.

Letter to Stephen Harper

Jason lettersThe Right Honourable Stephen Harper
House of Commons
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0A6

01 June 2007

Dear Sir,

I am writing you today to take offense at your comments in question period on 31 May 2007. As a Canadian who has served in a Reserve Force capacity with the Canadian Forces for 18 years, I find your comments to the Leader of the Opposition about his lack of service the hight of hypocrisy given your lack of service. Given your statement about how much you think of the opinion of people who haven't served in uniform, and your lack of service, why should I, as a born and raised Canadian, care about what YOU think about military matters.

As to having always worked and payed taxes in this country, I note that of the very few members of your caucus that have bothered to serve in uniform, two did so in other countries. Again, given your statements about people who have worked abroad, why should I consider valid the opinions and statements of a government who's own members can't state that they've worked their entire lives in Canada.

Your actions and statements are unbecoming a person holding your office and as an Albertan and Canadian I am embarrassed that a Canadian Prime Minister would act and speak in the manner that you are. For the record, I am not now nor have I ever been a Liberal. I'm just an Albertan and Canadian who is appalled at the childishness of your actions.

Sincerely,

Jason Nishiyama, CD

Letter to Ralph Klein

Jason lettersDear Premier Klein,

I am writing in response to the apparent discord between your government's statements and your actions. Your government claims that it wants to hear Albertans' concerns about your new health plan, however your actions in the legislature run counter to this.

Re: Rod Love to present to Gomery Commission.

Jason lettersI was listening to Rod Love's interview this morning and I need to make this comment. Apparently Mr. Love hasn't read any of the Auditor General for Alberta's reports for the past few years. If he had he would realized how easy it would be for a scandal such as the Sponsorship Scandal to happen in Alberta. Many provincial government contracts aren't tendered, some don't even include outcome measurements. This means that friends of the Cabinet can get in on contracts, receive provincial tax dollars, and not even have to produce anything for it.

Letter to Ralph Klein - 07 May 2005

Jason lettersDear Premier Klein,

I am writing in regard to the Calgary Ward 10 election inspection. From the reports I read in the Calgary media, it would appear that your government is not particularly interested in getting to the bottom of the issue. It makes me wonder that if those allegedly responsible for the electoral irregularities were not loyal members of your party, the investigation would have been more vigorous.

To Calgary Herald - 04 May 2005

Jason lettersThe impression I\'m getting with the whole Ward 10 election scandal is that the provincial government doesn\'t see it as that important. We are told that the inspection will get to the bottom of the issue, but we now find out that those who were allegedly involved won\'t even be interviewed. It would seem that the provincial government has the same cavalier attitude towards the democratic process that those who were responsible for the voting irregularities. I wonder if those who were accused were not loyal Progressive Conservative Party members if the inspection would have been more vigorous or even a public inquiry.
