Yes, getting the young to vote probably would hurt Harper quite a bit. The trick is convincing them to do that.

Given the demographic you have provided for the average Harper supporter, it's no surprise why Harper and Conservatives hate education. The more education people have, the less likely they are to vote Conservative. Add to that the age of the Conservative voter, they're slowly dying off so eventually one could imagine that there will be less and less of them as time goes on.
