Red Deer MLA cracks peanut with sledgehammer. Listening to CBC1 this morning, as is my habit on the way to work, I heard about the MLA for Red Deer North (Mary Anne Jablonski) who is tabling a private member\'s bill in the legislature that will force youth with addiction into treatment. On the surface to the casual observer this doesn\'t seem like a bad idea, and I\'m sure to the party faithful it\'s a great idea. It\'s not a good idea for a couple of reasons.
Calgary is creating it\'s own traffic nightmare. In it\'s continuing effort to create even worse traffic jams, the city of Calgary council has decided to raise the transit rates and monthly passes. Now the reason I bring this up is twofold. First is personal, the second is societal. |
